A prophecy of Hazrat Gausul Azam Maizbhandari (K.):

“When two people argue, give up 2% and accept 48% of the whole, even if you are 50% at benefit. Let peace reign supreme. Let the conflict go.”

– Rahbar-e-Alam Hazratulhajj Shah Sufi Syed Muhammad Hasan Maizbhandari (M.Z.A).

The verses attributed to Hazrat Gausul Azam Maizbhandari (K.) support an extensive plan for solving disputes by emphasizing the need of harmony and compromise in the face of conflict. These teachings are consistent with the central Sufi theme on cultivating peace and harmony both inside oneself and in interpersonal interactions. The suggestion to offer up up some of one’s position in order to reach a resolution represents the Sufi approach to mutual respect and tolerance.

The acceptance of change and the idea of balance are fundamental to Taoism. The concept of freely sacrificing a portion of one’s status in order to attain harmony is in line with the Taoist notion of submitting and pursuing balance in the face of competing circumstances.
