Incident of Fire on Minibus in Chittagong’s Khulshi Thana Area

October 30, 2023 In a recent occurrence, a minibus in the Garibullah Shah Majar bus counter area, under the jurisdiction of Khulshi Thana in Chittagong, was engulfed in flames. Fortunately, there were no reported injuries resulting from this incident, which unfolded on Monday night, October 30th, at around 9:00 PM.

Local residents in the area have disclosed that the incident was associated with a wedding event held at the Community Center Square in Garibullah Shah’s locality, with the guests arriving at the neighborhood via this minibus. The exact cause of the fire remains under investigation, with authorities yet to confirm the circumstances that led to the incident.

Mr. Rubel Haoladar, the Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Khulshi Thana within the Chittagong Metropolitan Police (CMP), provided a statement to the Daily Nayer Alo, saying, “An incident of fire on a minibus has taken place. We are actively working to ascertain the responsible party or circumstances behind it.”

The Garibullah Shah Majar area in Chittagong is home to numerous bus counters that connect various parts of the country, including Dhaka. These bus counters are located just a few meters away from the Chittagong Metropolitan Police (CMP) headquarters and the Metropolitan Police Lines, adding to the intrigue of this incident.
