Chittagong, November 2, 2023— In a marriage that began with a love affair on Facebook, Mobashwera Sultana, a college student, married Uber driver Shahidul Islam Gazi. Despite her husband Shahidul’s limited education, Mobashwera continued her studies and completed her post-graduation, showing great respect and love for him. The couple had two children, and their financial stability came from Mobashwera’s income from selling dresses and the rent from a flat provided by her mother, which they earned through driving for Uber and Pathaway.
However, their love story took a tragic turn when Shahidul, the Uber driver, became involved in an unequal relationship with a teacher from Chittagong University. This led to a separation, and now, the 30-year-old housewife is protesting in various places with her two children in an attempt to reunite with her husband.
Mobashwera Sultana, daughter of the late ABM Abu Salek from the neighboring Rahman Nagar, married Shahidul Islam Gazi on February 6, 2017, after a two-year love relationship. Mobashwera’s father was the former Principal of Chandanish Burma College, and her mother used to teach at Chittagong Polytechnic High School.
It’s worth noting that at the beginning of their marriage, Shahidul’s education and financial situation were not strong, which initially caused concerns in Mobashwera’s family. However, her family eventually accepted their relationship.
In this unfortunate turn of events, the relationship with the Chittagong University teacher led to divorce and legal proceedings. Mobashwera is now actively seeking justice through the legal system, while Shahidul is involved in a separate marriage. The situation remains complex, and the legal proceedings are ongoing.
This story is a poignant reminder of love’s fragility, illustrating the complex dynamics of modern relationships.
